Here’s the premise – Set in the late 90s in South Korea, a mentally challenged man is wrongly sent to jail for murder, and his 6-year-old daughter doesn’t know her dad’s about to die. What follows after is an absolute tear-jerker. That’s Miracle in cell no. 7 in a nutshell.

I’d not bother to reveal anything more, for it ought to be experienced rather than being read about.
This film will make you laugh and make you cry even more. It is so good that you would be rooting for the characters even in one of the most illogical scenes ever. Throw logic out the window; it can wait!
This 2013 South-Korean comedy-drama was a commercial success and bagged many awards. It has also inspired many remakes already. What’s more – it is based on a true story of a man who was tortured into pleading guilty to the rape and murder of a 9-year old child before being exonerated 36 years later.
PS: Do not try fighting the lumps in your throat. It is futile.
